Teasing Master Takagi-san is a Netflix Japanese drama (J-drama) that has been winning hearts on the streaming platform since its premiere on 26 March 2024. The sweet live-action series is based on a manga of the same name, making it all the more interesting to watch for fans of Japanese comic books. Moreover, it will be followed by a theatrical movie that is expected to complete the arc.
Teasing Master Takagi-san (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san) is a manga series written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto. The serialised manga ran from 2013 to 2023, making it one of the most recent Japanese comic books to have seen completion.
While the live-action series is internationally available on Netflix, the show is broadcast in Japan by TBS. The manga version has also been adapted into an anime series and a follow-up anime movie.

Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action series premiered on Netflix on 26 March 2024 with two episodes. In what seems like an arrangement, Netflix released the show before TBS.
All future episodes of the live-action show will drop weekly, expectedly on Mondays on Netflix. The show will have a total of 10 episodes. Each episode will roughly be around 22-23 minutes long.
According to Anime News Network, TBS will begin airing the live-action series on its Drama Stream programming block starting 2 April.

What is the plot of Teasing Master Takagi-san?
Teasing Master Takagi-san primarily revolves around two characters: the titular Takagi and her classmate Nishikata.
Takagi is a prankster who enjoys playing innocuous pranks on Nishikata. But Nishikata is never able to get back at her no matter how hard he tries because Takagi is always one step ahead.

Rui Tsukishima plays the role of Takagi. Sōya Kurokawa portrays the innocent Nishikata.
Tsukishima is primarily known for being an exclusive model for Seventeen magazine. She has also been a former member of J-pop groups Challenge Girls!! and White Campus III.
Kurokawa, who is 14 years old, is an established actor with TV hits such as Tokyo Alien Bros. (2018) and Emergency Interrogation Room (2019). He rose to international renown with his stellar lead role in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Monster (2023), which won the Queer Palm at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
What is the filming location for the Teasing Master Takagi-san J-drama?
The live-action show was reportedly filmed entirely on Shodoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture. The original story, as it is in the manga series, is set on the island as well.
